Commencing February 2018 interested applications are invited for a full-time Executive Chef position for a renowned hospitality School in Luzern Switzerland; international cuisine for up to 170 international students per main meal period.

We are seeking an experienced chef in the overall responsibility of the production kitchen for student meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus, brunch and dinner at the weekend. The position entails straight and split shifts with the occasional weekend when required.

The successful applicant should have a wide range of kitchen experience and be familiar with all sections of the kitchen. Moreover, be knowledgeable in kitchen skills, techniques, food products. In addition, significant experience in food purchasing, food costs and dealing with suppliers. A portfolio of established international recipes is also essential.

The position also requires the candidate to manage a small kitchen team, plan rotas and holidays and maintain high hygiene standards and quality control. Furthermore, support, communicate and motivate international students in all aspects of culinary arts as part of their academic programme.

Applicants should have:

significant work experience in a food production kitchen and/or hotel and restaurant kitchen;
several years of international experience;
experience in controlling food cost;
cooperation and team spirit;
adaptable to high-pressure situations at peak times;
flexible in working days;
ability to manage and work within a dynamic kitchen team;
excellent communications skills; and
fluent level in English and German desirable.
