This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented sous-chef who is willing to take on his/her next career step to becoming a Head Chef for a famous upscale Mexican restaurant in Shanghai.
Permanent role for young sous-chef/head chef who is keen on moving to China. Reputable restaurant. American or Mexican candidates preferred. Chef will also be a ‘marketing tool’ for the restaurant. Age around 28-35 years old. Stand alone rest experience is a must.

Taking care of daily operations
Managing food costs
Overseeing menu changes in both venues twice a year for all menus
Working with the concept and brandrequirements when making those changes
Overseeing a kitchen of 18-20 staff in their venye and 8-10 in their dependance restaurant.
Reporting to the General Manager
The restaurant has received many awards in China for their unique cuisine, their other venue is of a smaller size but has a large outdoor terrace in summertime.
Ensuring the hygiene and food safety is to the highest level
Overseeing events menus and festive menucreations
Executing a busy meal period of sometimes 230 guests to the highest ability
6 day working week
Start date ASAP
Placement Remarks
This is a permanent job for candidates who have a min. of 2 years experience as sous-chef or who has experience as head chef already.
PAY
Salary: 20k-25k gross per month
Basic impatient health insurance
Working visa provided by employer
Bonus pay according to performance & profitability
2-year contract
Requirements
Our client is basically looking for a guy or girl who is around 28-35 years old so maybe a bit younger and hungry to learn still. He/she has been a head chef for a short period, ideally or sous chef for at least 2 years, has worked in a busy upscale restaurant, also possibly in an international country. We need someone to commit to 2 years. We would prefer an American National or Mexican as they are serving Mexican cuisine. They are looking for someone who is willing to come to China and work with awell-established brand and learn the language and culture of course. Candidates that have an independent, stand alone restaurant background are preferred.
In order to be eligible for a valid working visa in China candidates should:
Be a minimum of 25 years old
Have a bachelor degree in culinary arts or hospitality
Have 2-3 years of relevant work experience after graduation
Alternatively, candidates who hold a valid z-visa already that can be transfered to their new employer.
