Head Chef Oslo Jamie’s Italian
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to Jamie’s Italian that is located at beautiful Aker Brygge in Oslo. You will be the first in command in the facilities and be responsible for developing the menu. As a Head Chef you will be in charge of building and maintaining a strong and skilled team. You will be involved in developing the restaurant in terms of concept and menu and have a unique opportunity to influence the restaurant.

Minimum qualifications:

Multiple years of work experience as a head chef or similar role
Financial understanding, in terms of budgets, procurements, scheduling and maintaining payroll
Experience from Italian cuisine, or from a similar restaurant
Degree in Culinary science or related certificate
Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
Up to date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
Credentials in health and safety training
Proficiency in English and/or a Scandinavian language

Responsibilities:

Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
Be fully in charge of hiring, managing, and training kitchen staff
Scheduling, maintaining payroll and other cost control
Procurement
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Story

Jamie’s Italian was founded by Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, Chef Gennaro Contaldo, in Oxford in 2008. Since then, the concept has grown to more than 60 restaurants around the world, with plans for even more restaurants in cities and countries all over the world.

Jamie’s Italian is inspired by Italy and the country’s many tradition and values. In Jamie’s own words:

“Since I was a teenager I’ve been totally besotted by the love, passion and verve for food, family and life itself that just about all Italian people have, no matter where they’re from or how rich or poor they might be. And that’s what I’m passionate about good food for everyone, no matter what… But the thing I love most about the Italians is that somehow, although they have some of the best fashion designers and cars in the world, they’ve managed to retain a unique sense of tradition and village spirit.”
